Excerpts from Memories of Trinity

"A line has length but no breadth" a profound statement which introduced us to geometry in Form II. The teacher Mr. A.M. Suderamani, AMS for short, and also known as 'Lubba' (lub as in hub) referring to his sherwani covered girth (he was circumferentially challenged in today's parlance). He had switched from teaching Tamil to Mathematics. AMS taught me in 1950 and 52, with Sahayam as an interlude in 51. His replacement in Tamil was Mr. Swamidasan, nicknamed 'Kopi'.

DEAR MR.SUNDARAMANI OR DEAR!

"Yay Wore Bee Plush She Wore Dee Equalsh Yay Wore pee Plush She Wore Bee". This was reason enough for the two triangles to be congruent. What we were supposed to understand from the above was that AOB+COD = AOD+ COB. This was one step on the way to proving the congruency of the two given triangles.
